Marisa Thrasher

Education: Marisa Thrasher is an extremely talented student. She has qualified for the GATE (honors) program, at Stone Avenue Elementary school, where she has continually maintained a straight "A" average. Her favorite subjects are Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Artistry. Being the eldest of three girls, Marisa is a born leader. This engaging young lady finds it part of her nature to be inquisitive, decisive, intellectual, mature and seemingly in control of her illustrious destiny. Her many successes at such a young age show a bright future is just ahead of her.

Interests and Extracurricular Activities: Marisa enjoys taking part in neighborhood stage productions. In 1995 she starred in "The Wizard of Oz" as Dorothy. In Janug of this year she was Penny in the play, "Annie." Along with acting, Marisa appreciates the sport of gymnastics. She is graceful, lean and elegant as she performs floor exercises.

Career Achievements: 1996 rendered an abundance of fun and self awareness that would boost any child's self esteem. In Dec. 1995 she made her professional debut as a primary character in the music video, "Naked" by the Goo Goo Dolls. Numerous audition calls brought parts in commercials like: Global Life Insurance, SouthWest Airlines, Fox Kids Network, Lee Jeans, and a commercial advertising a German children's network, comparable to our Nickelodeon.
Marisa was involved in a national print project with G & J Photography. This advertisement can be found in the May 1996 issue of Ad Age Magazine.
The summer of '96 brought about a project that was the most enjoyable of her young career. Marisa was cast as Angela in the feature film, "Anarchy TV." She enjoyed meeting and working with people like Alan Thicke, Jonathan Penner, Jessica Hecht, various members of the Zappa family and others.

Future: Marisa has her sights set on receiving The Principals Award of Excellence, the highest honor awarded, at her 6th grade graduation this coming June. If she continues skipping along the path of success, she is sure to find gold no matter the direction she chooses when she reaches the fork in the yellow brick road.
